UK donates medical equipment

26/04/2006 -- 11:16 AM

Ha Noi (VNA) -- The British Embassy has granted medical equipment worth over 81,000 USD to the city of Hue and the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong.

At ceremony held in Ha Noi on April 24, UK Ambassador to Viet Nam Robert Gordon presented a microscope, biochemical analysers, an ultrasound machine, blood analysers, infant incubators and surgical kits to medical clinic representatives from Hue and the districts of Krong No and Cu Jut in Dak Nong.

The donations are part of the British Embassy's small grants programme that aims each year to support a number of poverty reduction projects by helping improve the lives of people living in Viet Nam's poorer provinces.
