Vietnamese and French scientists meet

03/05/2006 -- 9:22 PM

Ha Noi (VNA) - Hundreds of Vietnamese physicians and more than 40 French professionals convened at the Ha Noi-based Bach Mai Hospital on May 3 to exchange experiences in ultrasonography and cardiovascular disease symptoms.
This is the first time the meeting, organised regularly by the Viet Nam Cardiovascular Association (VCA) and the Viet Nam Cardiovascular Institute, welcomed the participation of physicians from France, who brought in new ultrasonic scan techniques using Doppler ultrasound and two-dimensional scan images.
At the gathering, Vietnamese physicians had a chance to approach surgery techniques and treatment in dealing with complicated heart diseases to avert flaws that can pose dangers to patients.
Prof. Pham Gia Khai, Director of the Viet Nam Cardiovascular Institute, made a presentation on updated treatments for body-fat disorders, which have been increasingly observed among Vietnamese people.
On VCA's estimations, cardiovascular diseases have grown more complicated than ever, to become the leading cause of death in Viet Nam.-Enditem
