China congratulates Viet Nam's new National Assembly Chairman

Ha Noi (VNA) - Wu Bangguo, Chairman of the National People's Congress of China, on June 26 extended warm and fine congratulations to Nguyen Phu Trong on his election as Chairman of the National Assembly of Viet Nam and expressed his wish to promote increased cooperation between the two law-making bodies. In his congratulatory message, Wu wrote: "China and Viet Nam have adjoining mountains and rivers, and the peoples have established a traditional time-honoured friendship. Under the motto of friendly neighbourliness, comprehensive cooperation, long lasting stability and looking towards to the future, the neighbourly friendship and traditional cooperation between China and Viet Nam have never ceased." He went on: "As an important component in the two countries' relationship, the friendship between the National People's Congress of China and the National Assembly of Viet Nam has been continuously strengthened. From the bottom of my heart, I feel happy about these things and am ready to work with you to further the exchange of relations, cooperation and friendship between the two countries' law-making bodies, thus further enhancing the Chinese-Vietnamese relationship."-Enditem
