Laos congratulates Viet Nam's new leaders

Ha Noi (VNA) - Lao leaders on June 27 extended warm congratulations to Nguyen Phu Trong and Nguyen Minh Triet on their elections as Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) and State President of Viet Nam. In their congratulatory messages, sent to the newly-elected Vietnamese leaders, Lao National Assembly Chairman Thoongsin Thammavong and State President Choummaly Sayasone expressed confidence that under the leadership of the new NA Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong and the State President Nguyen Minh Triet, Viet Nam will continue to gain great achievements in carrying out the task of industrialisation and modernisation, increasing its status in regional and global arenas. The Laos leaders also expressed their wishes that the traditional friendship, the special solidarity and the comprehensive cooperation between the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV), as well as, the relations between the two States and peoples will be further consolidated and developed for the sake of mutual interests, peace, stability and cooperation in the region and in the world. -Enditem
