Ha Noi (VNA) - The Viet Nam Rheumatology Association (VRA) announced on July 20 that it would start the first national survey on the impact of economic development on osteoporosis next month.
The project, with 1.2 billion VND (75,000 USD) in support from the Dutch Lady - Viet Nam Dairy Company, will be carried out over two years, covering persons 18 years old and over in Ha Noi, the northern province of Ha Nam, Ho Chi Minh City and the southern province of Kien Giang.
The results of the survey will be used to map out a plan for prevention and early treatment for those suffering from osteoporosis, a disease common in ageing woman where a dietary lack of calcium can lead to deteriorating bone strength.-Enditem
