EVN Telecom joint venture to produce mobile phones

Ha Noi (VNA) - EVN Telecom, a subsidiary of the Electricity of Viet Nam, has completed procedures to set up a joint venture, IQ Links Co. Ltd., to produce mobile phones. IQ Links Co. Ltd. is a joint venture of EVN Telecom, Chi Linh Joint Stock Company, Qualcomm of the US, and Ubiquam of the Republic of Korea. The joint venture, with an investment capital of 5 million USD, plans to build its factory in the northern province of Hai Duong. It is expected to turn out its first product in July 2007. Qualcomm will provide CDMA technology and chipsets for the joint venture.-Enditem
