Japan to help improve investment environment in Viet Nam

Ha Noi (VNA) - Japanese PM Shinzo Abe on Nov. 20 affirmed that Japan wants to contribute to improving Viet Nam's investment environment.

PM Abe made the statement at a press conference in Ha Noi at the end of his official visit to Viet Nam from Nov. 19-20. He said the two countries were striving to promote the implementation of the second phase of the Viet Nam-Japan common initiative to improve the investment environment.

He said Japan would send teams to survey and consider investing in projects including in the construction of the North-South highway in Viet Nam - one of the three top preferential investment projects of the two countries.

PM Shinzo Abe thanked the Vietnamese government and people for their hospitality and warm welcome during his stay in Viet Nam from Nov. 17-20 for the 14th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting (AELM-14) and his first official visit to Viet Nam in his capacity as Prime Minister.
During his stay in Viet Nam, PM Abe met Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung. The two sides discussed measures to boost bilateral economic cooperation, particularly relations between the two business circles of the two countries.

On AELM-14, PM Abe said that APEC was the most dynamic region in the world, with the highest growth rate in the world. At present, all economies open their doors for development and renewal, and Viet Nam is one such economy.

Japan will continue to contribute to efforts for the common development of the APEC economies, PM Abe affirmed.

On the sideline of AELM-14, PM Abe met with the US President, the Chilean President, the Singaporean Prime Minister, the Russian President, the President of the Republic of Korean, the President of China and the Prime Minister of Australia.-Enditem
