Ministry puts forth new therapy for H5N1 patients

Ha Noi (VNA) - The Vietnamese Ministry of Health has released updated treatment prescription for H5N1 patients, said a local health official.

The ministry also requested the Government of Japan to provide more medicines and equipment to help Viet Nam contain the disease, said Deputy Minister of Health Trinh Quan Huan.

According to the steering committee for the control of bird flu in humans, samples of 112 flu type A patients, including four new suspect cases in the southernmost province of Ca Mau, were tested negative with virus strain H5N1.

Emergency procedures to contain a possible outbreak of bird flu in humans will be drilled in Cam Pha town in northeastern Quang Ninh province on Jan. 7, the committee said.-Enditem
