HongKong (VNA) - Preliminary testing of two dead birds collected in Hong Kong has indicated suspected cases of H5 avian influenza, a spokesman for the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) of Hong Kong said on Jan. 18.
One of the birds, collected by AFCD staff on Convair Drive, San Po Kong, is a common resident bird in Hong Kong, but the other is a House Crow, is of an exotic species.
The spokesman said the AFCD had stepped up cleansing the Cheung Sha Wan Temporary Wholesale Poultry Market. The Department has also issued letter warning poultry farmers to take precautions against avian influenza.-Enditem
