Bangkok (VNA) - Thai health officials at a farm in Si Chiang Mai district of Nong Khai, province bordering Laos, have culled more than 2,000 poultry suspected of bring infected with bird flu.
A total of 230 chickens at the farm died of unknown causes on Jan. 20, forcing the provincial authorities to later cull some 2,000 chickens. Additional 60 chickens raised by villagers living near the farm were also destroyed.
The Thai government had to place 16 districts of its central provinces under stricter control as they discovered the spread of infected poultry in the areas.-Enditem
