Two birds tested positive for H5N1 virus in Hongkong

Hongkong (VNA) - The Hong Kong Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department said on Jan. 29 that the peregrine falcon and house crow found earlier were confirmed to be H5N1 positive.

The peregrine falcon was found by department staff on Chai Wan Kok Street in Tsuen Wan on Jan. 22 and the carcass of the house crow was discovered at Yee Kok Court in Sham Shui Po the same day. After a series of laboratory tests, both were found positive for H5N1 virus, China 's Xinhua news agency reported.

The Department reminded people of the importance of thorough personal hygiene, Xinhua said.-Enditem
