RoK helps Indonesia fight bird flu

Jakarta (VNA) - The Republic of Korean (RoK) Government has provided Indonesia with medical aid worth 500,000 USD to help the country fight avian influenza, according to Indonesia ’s Antara news agency.

The assistance, in the form of protective jackets, protective spectacles, gloves, Rapid AIV antigen test equipment, manual spray devices, was handed over on Jan. 30 through the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Antara was quoted the RoK Embassy in Indonesia as saying.

The equipment will be given to 11 animal quarantines in Jakarta , Surabaya , Bali , Lampung, Makassar , Balikpapan , Bengkulu, Ambon , Gorontalo, Ternate and Timika.

The H5N1 virus has now spread to 30 out of the country’s 33 provinces, Antara reported.-Enditem
