Chinese Premier to visit Japan in mid April

Tokyo (VNA) – Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao is scheduled to visit Japan from April 11-15, marking the first Japan visit by a Chinese premier since 2001, Japanese Yomiuri newspaper quoted a Japanese government official as saying. Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing will pay a two-day visit to Japan from Feb. 15 in preparation for the Premier’s upcoming visit. The Chinese Premier is expected to hold talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe concerning their countries’ reciprocal strategic relations in addition to other issues such as investment promotion and scientific and environmental protection cooperation. The talks between the two leaders are intended to pave the way for a possible Japan visit by Chinese President Hu Jintao later this year, the paper said.- Enditem
