International quarantine centres established

02/02/2007 -- 10:46 PM

Ha Noi (VNA) - International quarantine centres will be established in provinces and centrally-run cities to supervise the implementation of quarantine measures at all establishments involved in food, drinks and water supply services in border gate areas, according to the Ministry of Public Health.

Quick tests will be conducted at border gates to find disease-causing agents in food, including bacterium, viruses, toxic chemicals and artificial colouring.

Provincial international quarantine centres are also responsible for conducting medical examinations, giving medical treatment and granting certificates to subjects of quarantine according to effective regulations.

These centres will cooperate with relevant local agencies to educate the public on quarantine work.- Enditem
