Phnom Penh (VNA) - The United States has lifted its ten-year ban on giving money directly to Cambodia , US Ambassador to Cambodia Joseph Mussomeli was quoted on Feb. 23 by the Cambodian Daily as saying.

Under the terms of the 2007 US budget resolution passed on Feb. 15, Cambodia will likely receive about 56 million USD in this fiscal year, directly and unconditionally.

The Cambodian ambassador to the United States , Roland Eng described the US move as very positive, helping to open a new page in the relations between Cambodia and the US.-Enditem
