HCM City (VNA) -- According to US Weekly, American film superstars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have sent documents to the US Immigration Department concerning the adoption of a Vietnamese child living at HCM City-based Tam Binh orphanage.
The couple, who visited Tam Binh orphanage has not contacted Vietnamese authorities, said Vu Duc Long, head of Ministry of Justice's International Foster-child Department last November.
Nguyen Van Trung, director of Tam Binh orphanage, said he was waiting a decision from the Ministry of Justice and HCM City's Department of Justice.
Under Viet Nam and the US Agreement on adoption, the pair will have to spend at least several months to fulfil all needed procedures.
Jolie and Pitt are the biological parents of one child, Shiloh and the adoptive parents of Maddox, 5 years, from Cambodia, and Zahara, 2 years, from Ethiopia.-Enditem
