Cairo (VNA) - Kuwaiti Health Minister Sheikh Ahmad al-Abdullah al-Sabah has said that bird flu cases have been spotted among birds in Kuwait .
The virus existed in 20 samples taken from birds, mostly falcons, which were living in a local zoo and a falcon hospital, Minister al-Sabah was quoted by the official KUNA news agency as saying.
So far, there were no infections among humans, the minister said, adding that a national emergency plan has been implemented.
According to KUNA, the Kuwaiti Public Authority for Agriculture and Fish Resources Affairs has taken precautionary measures and informed the World Health Organisation and liaison officers in the six Gulf Cooperation Council states of the matter.-Enditem
