Healthcare network develops in mountainous areas

26/02/2007 -- 4:16 PM

Thanh Hoa (VNA) - All communes and hamlets in 11 mountainous districts of central Thanh Hoa province have so far had medical workers, reports the provincial healthcare service, adding that more than a half of their communal infirmaries have included doctors in their staff members.

As many as 56 out of the total 194 infirmaries in mountainous areas have reached national standards of health care with each of infirmaries having between 5-16 medical workers.

The central province has attached importance to the training work to improve the capacity of medical staff, giving incentives to high-skilled medical workers as well as mobilise all resources to develop healthcare network.

Thanh Hoa province targets to have all of its mountainous areas to possess infirmaries meeting the national standards of healthcare by 2010. The province also expects to have 60 percent of its mountainous communes acknowledged as "communes of good practice for health care".-Enditem
