Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Information and communication technology (ICT) officials from 18 countries and territories worldwide are attending the third Asia Pacific International Network (APIN) meeting in Malaysia to discuss the development of ICT in APIN’s member countries.
The participants, from Bhutan, China, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Laos, Maldives, Mongolia, Malaysia, Nepal, New Zealand, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Viet Nam, will also set out APIN's vision and mission, said an ICT expert.
The three-day meeting, which began on Feb. 26, is being hosted by the National Library of Malaysia in collaboration with Bangkok-based UNESCO Communication and Information Division for the Asia Pacific.
The meeting will be an effective mechanism for member countries to share their skills and cooperate in the ICT industry, Datuk Zakiah Ahmad, Culture, Arts and Heritage Ministry Secretary-General was quoted by Malaysia’s news agency (Bernama) as saying in her opening speech.-Enditem
