China willing to conduct economic cooperation with DPRK

Beijing (VNA) - China is willing to discuss with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on possible economic cooperation, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang said on Feb. 27. As a neighbour of the DPRK, China hopes the DPRK can realise economic and social development, the spokesman said when commenting on a report that the DPRK may set up an economic zone near its border with China . The international community should provide beneficial assistance to the DPRK, the spokesman was quoted by China ’s Xinhua news agency as saying. China has always adhered to two principles in developing its relations with the DPRK: safeguarding peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and serving the mutual interests of both countries, he elaborated.-Enditem
