Japanese-aided project to build modern labs starts

Ha Noi (VNA) –The project to build Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) laboratories at the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology broke ground on May 7. The 8 million USD project has over 7.7 million USD sourced from the Japanese government’s aid. The labs will help the institute be active in studying and defining new epidemics. In addition to providing equipment for the laboratories, the Japanese side will assist the institute in training staff and strengthening capacity in testing and specifying serious disease-causing agents in the lab.-Enditem
