Asian Football Cup: Qatar-Japan draw 1-1

Ha Noi (VNA) - Qatar’s Quintana Andres made a goal to the Japanese net at the 88th minute, earning a 1-1 draw in their match at Ha Noi’s My Dinh Stadium on July 9. The first half the second match of the Asian Cup 2007, Group B, was so hilarious, but no goal was scored. Japanese Takahara Naohiro broke the deadlock in the 61st minute when he slammed home a cross from the right by utility man Yasuyuki Konno. But a win for Japan was stolen at the last minutes when Andres succeeded with his free kick. The two sides played with their strongest line-up. An estimated of 4,000 Japanese fans went to the stadium to support their team. So far, host Viet Nam has been at the top of Group B after upsetting the United Arab Emirates 2-0 in the first match of the tournament on July 8. Viet Nam will play against Qatar on July 12.-Enditem
