PM welcomes new Filipino, Myanmar ambassadors

10/07/2007 -- 9:34 PM

Ha Noi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung expressed his wish to strengthen the bilateral cooperation between Viet Nam with the Philippines and Myanmar in his separate receptions of two new Ambassadors from those countries in Ha Noi on July 10.

Receiving Ambassadors Laura Quiambao de Rosario of the Philippines and U Aung Them of Myanmar, PM Dung also said he hoped that the Ambassadors would serve as a link for further bilateral cooperation in politics, economics, national defence, culture, and education.

Both Ambassadors said they appreciate their opportunities to work in Viet Nam. They informed the Vietnamese PM of the preparations made for his official visits to their own countries in the coming time, which are expected to bring the bilateral cooperation to a new height, particularly in economics, trade and investment.

Ambassador Rosario also said the Philippines targets to doubling the annual two-way trade with Viet Nam from 1 billion USD to 2 billion USD, and its industrial and pharmaceutical businesses are accelerating their investment in Viet Nam.-Enditem
