Deputy PM receives Cambodian minister

071102_Hung.jpgHa Noi (VNA) - Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung on July 11 received a visiting delegation from the Cambodian Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy.

Minister Suy Sem, who led the delegation said that he had constructive discussions with the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Viet Nam Coal and Mineral Industry Group since arriving in the country.

The minister also went on to state that his government was pleased with the low cost supply of electricity for Cambodia's border provinces, aid assistance packages from Viet Nam and hoped that further assistance would be provided so the country could draw up a geological mineral map of Cambodia's northeast.

Suy Sem said his country was also looking forward to Viet Nam 's help in construction of two hydro-power plants, Se San 1 and Se San 2.

Deputy PM Hung affirmed that the Vietnamese government was in full support of continued cooperation between the industrial sectors of the two countries and said that there was future potential in the areas of petro-chemistry, and rubber cultivation and processing for export.

Work in these areas would help resolve unemployment problems in the regions and also promote economic development in the two countries, he added. -Enditem
