Viet Nam-Russia friendship groups meet

Moscow (VNA) – Officials from the friendship organisations of Viet Nam and Russia have met in an effort to bolster the relations between the two countries. At a recent meeting in Russia between Tran Huu Thang, Deputy Minister of Interior Affairs and member of the executive board of the Viet Nam-Russia Friendship Organisation, and Vladimir Buyanov, President of the Russia-Viet Nam Friendship Organisation, the two sides reviewed the implementation of their joint initiatives over the past years. During their visit to Russia from July 1-11, Deputy Minister Thang, headed a delegation from the Viet Nam-Russia Organisation, met with the Association of Overseas Vietnamese and several branches of the Russia-Viet Nam Friendship Organisation in Moscow and St. Petersbourg. The visit was also joined by a delegation from the Viet Nam Veterans Association (VVA), headed by President Lieut. Gen. Dang Quan Thuy, at the invitation of the Russian Veterans’ Committee. At meetings with Russian Veterans Associations, the guests extended their appreciation to Russian veterans for their assistance during the Viet Nam War.-Enditem
