Laos hires Vietnamese coaches, aiming SEA Games

Ha Noi (VNA) – Laos have hired a number of experienced foreign coaches – including experts from Viet Nam – to train their athletes for the 24th Southeast Asian Games in Thailand later this year, the Vietnamese National Sports Committee said.

Eight Vietnamese coaches have been hired for their experience in shooting, swimming, diving, volleyball, beach volleyball, wushu and Karatedo.

Table tennis, football, boxing, pencak silat and petanque coaches will come from China, the Republic of Korea, Russia, Cuba, Indonesia, Mongolia, Japan and Thailand.

Laos plans to send around 660 officials and athletes to the SEA Games to participate in 24 sports.

Its chief medals’ hope lies in martial arts and petanque.-Enditem
