Viet Nam-France cooperation broadens

HCM City (VNA) – French Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Nicolas Warnery said Viet Nam-France relations have expanded between the two countries’ localities in economic cooperation and cultural, medical and educational exchanges. Speaking at a get-together to mark the 218 th French National Day (July 14) in HCM City on July 12, President of the HCM City Viet Nam-France Friendship Association Duong Quang Trung affirmed that the multi-faceted cooperation between two Governments and people has developed in the spirit of friendship, mutual equality and benefits. He singled out the cooperation between HCM City and Rhone-Alpes region and Lyon city of France over the past 10 years as a model for the two countries’ localities to build their ties. France is currently the leading European investor in Viet Nam with more than 2 billion euros poured in heavy industry, transport and communications, post and telecoms. Last year, France’s non-governmental organisations provided around 1 million euros in aid to HCM City.-Enditem
