Activities mark Viet Nam-Laos ties

HCM City (VNA) - A photo exhibition kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on July 17 as part of festivities being held to mark "Vientiane Days in Ho Chi Minh City". Through 100 photos from Vietnamese and Laos photographers, the week-long exhibition introduces Ho Chi Minh City residents to Vientiane's famous landscapes such as the Wat Sisaket Pagoda. Other images capture the Wat Xieng Thong Pagoda in the ancient capital city of Luang Phrabang as well as the daily lives and traditional and religious festivals of the Lao people. On the same day, the Nhan Dan newspaper launched a contest named “Viet Nam-Laos in my heart” to mark the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the 30th anniversary of the Viet Nam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Agreement. The contest will offer an opportunity for overseas Vietnamese to get a better understanding of the friendship, solidarity and cooperation that the two countries enjoy. The award ceremony will be organised to coincide with Laos’ National Day (December 2).-Enditem
