Vientiane (VNA) - The Sao Vang (Gold Star) and Ho Chi Minh Orders, Viet Nam's highest and second highest distinctions, were presented to Lao Party and State leaders for their contributions to promoting the Viet Nam-Laos relationship, at a ceremony held in Vientiane, on July 17.
Addressing the award ceremony, Truong Tan Sang, Politburo member and permanent member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee, said that the awards reflect the special relationship between Viet Nam and Laos and that the Vietnamese Party and State have always appreciated the important contributions by Lao agencies and leaders to develop ties between the countries.
Sang stressed the significance in building and strengthening the partnership, cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos in the interests of both nations' development.
On behalf of awardees, Samane Viyakhet, Politburo member and head of the Steering Board for Theoretical and Cultural Work of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, said that the awards contributed to promoting and developing the friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two Parties and States and people of Laos and Viet Nam . -Enditem
