25/07/2007 -- 5:45 PM

Ha Noi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem urged media workers to highlight the image of Viet Nam which is actively speeding up renovation and giving friendly welcome to friends and investors.

At a conference in Ha Noi on July 25 to review the information work regarding external relations in the first half of the year, Deputy PM and FM Khiem, who is also Chairman of the Steering Committee on Foreign Affairs Information (SCFAI), lauded the progresses recorded by the country’s all four main types of press – radios, TV, newspapers and e-newspapers in raising Viet Nam’s prestige on the international arena.

For his part, SCFAI Deputy Chairman Nguyen Hong Vinh said that in the second half of the year the media will focus on the dissemination of information on the Party and State’s foreign policies of openness, diversification, and multi-lateralisation on the one hand and flay the hostile forces’ fabricated information against the country’s national construction on the other hand, making foreign and overseas friends better understand Viet Nam.-Enditem
