27/08/2007 -- 5:13 PM

Ha Noi (VNA) – The Multilateral Trust Fund will provide 120,000 USD in non-refundable aid to the Viet Nam Bank for Social Policies to help the latter enhance capability.

The project will be carried out from August 2007 until April 2008 at a cost of 151,600 USD to help the bank to devise strategies to cope with the country’s WTO accession and its impact on the poor.

Deputy General Director of the Viet Nam Bank for Social Policies Duong Quyet Thang said that the bank’s customers are mainly poor households and social beneficiaries who have been badly affected by the country’s WTO integration.

The UK Department for International Development, the Australian Agency for International Development and other organisations are the chief financers of the programme.-Enditem
