Southwestern bordergate to get fresh start

28/08/2007 -- 6:56 PM

Ha Noi (VNA)- Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung is adamant that the Moc Bai bordergate economic zone (EZ) in the southwestern province of Tay Ninh that borders Cambodia should be turned into an international trade centre.

In his decision signed on August 24, the project will include an industrial trading areas that will be given duty free status and enterprises operating in the industrial trading areas will be permitted to be engaged in import-export businesses.

The new decision will also follow the exemption of tariffs and value-added taxes for the areas’ imported goods and services while its exports will also enjoy similar incentives, namely tariff exemptions and zero percent VAT.

Commodities and services subject to special consumption taxes will also be exempt from this category of taxes if they are produced and traded in or exported from the Moc Bai bordergate economic zone’s industrial trading areas.

Enterprises, which open investment, production, businesses and services in the industrial trading areas, will also be exempt from corporate taxes for four years.-Enditem
