Dien Bien to lend a helping hand in Laos

Dien Bien (VNA) - A medical team from mountainous Dien Bien province recently provided medical check-ups and treatment for 100 ethnic minority people from the northern Lao provinces of Luang Prabang, Oudomsay and Phongsaly. The medical aid is part of a larger cooperation programme that was established between Dien Bien and the three Lao provincial health sectors. Earlier, Dien Bien had provided 1,000 doses of polio vaccine for neighbouring Phongsaly province and worked on a health scheme to rid the area of typhoid. The province's medical college has also handed out scholarships for 47 medical students and 50 nurses from the three Laos' provinces.-Enditem
