Ha Noi (VNA) – Viet Nam brought home the championship of the Thailand Open Water Polo Tournament after beating the host team 13-10 in the final. This is the first regional title that Viet Nam has secured since its water polo players first took part in international competitions in 1995. - The national women’s soccer team set off for Myanmar on September 3 play in the third ASEAN Women’s Championships 2007. Eight teams from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member countries will compete for the title to be held in Yangon from September 6-15. Vietnamese players will be up against the Philippine on September 7 in the opening match of Group A which also includes Indonesia and Malaysia. - Viet Nam sent six players to the 12th Asian Women’s Chess Championship 2007 that opened in Tehran, Iran, on September 3. The 10-day event drew 38 players from regional countries and territories.-Enditem
