Ha Noi (VNA) – Both the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) and its Ha Noi counterpart reported small losses by the end of the September 5 trading session.
The VN-Index at the HoSE sunk by 4.28 points or 0.46 percent after racking up gains over the three previous trading sessions to end the day on 925.57 points with more than 7.9 million shares worth close to 657 billion VND being traded. The HoSE saw 37 stocks rally for gains, 25 remain unchanged and 53 fall.
The big news of the day was low value stock Cuu Long An Giang Seafood Export Import (ACL) topping the list of 37 movers by tacking 81,000 VND onto its listed price. ACL was followed by Lugia Mechanical Electric (LGC) with a 5,000 VND spike and Lam Dong Building Materials (LBM)'s 2,300 VND rise.
Binh Dinh Minerals (BMC) again fluctuated wildly with little reason given by analysts as it had 10,000 VND slashed from its stock price of 510,000 VND. The group of 53 losers also included Kinh Do Corporation (KDC), North Kinh Do Food (NKD), Vietnam Dairy Products (VNM) and Saigon Hotel Corporation (SGH).
By the close of trade in Ha Noi, the HaSTC had declined by 2.42 points or 0.94 percent to 253.72.
However, trading volume was on the rise as 1,098,600 shares worth more than 104.3 billion VND changed hands.
Twenty-three stocks fell with BaoViet Securities Company (BVS), Thang Long Wine (VTL), Song Da Trade and International Human Resources (SDA), COTEC Investment and Construction (CIC) and Song Da 9 (SD9) suffering the sharpest declines.
Meanwhile, Song Da 9.09 (S99) topped the list of 43 stocks that recorded gains by racking up a 13,500 VND jump, followed by Song Da 505 (S55), International Labour and Service (ILC), Song Da 6.04 (S64) and Tien Phong Plastics (NTP).-Enditem
