Top German legislator visits northern coastal localities

Hai Phong (VNA) – President of the German Federal Council Harald Ringstorff and his 40 strong business delegation on September 5 visited the northern port city of Hai Phong and its neighbouring Quang Ninh province as part of their on-going visit to Viet Nam. Ringstorff’s delegation holds members from businesses relating to port services and equipment manufacturers for the shipbuilding industry, a cornerstone of Hai Phong’s economy. German technology manufacturers and equipment is found scattered throughout the city’s shipyards. The Council Chief pledged that Germany’s Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state would aid Hai Phong in training human resources to meet international standards while developing high-tech industries and protecting the environment. Underscoring the visit, the Selck signed a cooperation deal with the municipal People’s Committee to build a modern industrial park in the city with the aim of attracting investors from Germany and the EU. While visiting Quang Ninh, the German legislator promised to facilitate German businesses to invest in the province in the fields of tourism, services and industry.-Enditem
