Vinh Phuc (VNA) – Taiwan’s Foxconn will invest 1.1 billion USD into building an industrial zone and an urban centre in the northern province of Vinh Phuc.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) underscoring the initiative was inked between leaders from Foxconn and Vinh Phuc province that stated Foxconn would develop a 500 ha-industrial zone in Binh Xuyen district during its first phase.

Once the work is completed, the group will build a factory to produce wireless fixed telephones and another plant to manufacture mobile telephones with an annual output of 84 million units – the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia.

The second phase will see the Taiwanese firm constructing the 500-ha Son Loi urban centre also in Binh Xuyen district.
