Belgians show their love for Vietnamese market

Belgium (VNA) - Over 120 leading businesses from all parts of Belgium and in particular the province of Frandre Orientale flocked to a workshop on Viet Nam’s business environment at the province’s capital city of Gand on Sept. 10. Provincial Governor Andre Denys extolled Viet Nam as an emerging economy that boasts one of the world’s leading growth rates, a key factor in the Flandre Orientale region’s establishment of an Economic Office in Ho Chi Minh City last May. A recent visit to Viet Nam by Fientje Moerman, Vice President and Minister of Economy, Enterprises, Science, Education, Reforms and Commerce, has contributed to the pitch in relations between Flandre Orientale province and Viet Nam in particular and between the two countries in general, said Denys. Executives from local firms, which have been operating profitably in HCM City, have expressed satisfaction at their Vietnamese partners as well as the business and investment climate in the country, especially in HCM City. Viet Nam’s Ambassador to Belgium Phan Thuy Thanh highlighted the Vietnamese Government’s policies that favour foreign investors and took the opportunity to present insignia “For the Cause of Culture-Information” for Flandre Orientale Governor Andre Denys and his deputy Marc De Buck in recognition of their contributions to promoting Vietnamese culture in their province in 2006 as well as boosting cultural ties between the two countries.--Enditem
