BIDV bankrolls 30 million USD for projects in Laos

Ha Noi (VNA) – The Bank of Investment and Development of Viet Nam (BIDV) will bankroll 30 million USD for four projects in Laos, said a BIDV official. According to BIDV Deputy General Director Le Dao Nguyen, the four projects were reached at the Viet Nam-Laos Investment Promotion Forum in central Nghe An province on September 8. They include a 5,000 ha rubber and timber plantation in southern Lao provinces by the Binh Dinh Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Company (Bidiphar), an Ethanol production factory by the Binh Dinh Manufacture, Investment, Service, Import-Export Company (Pisico), and two projects to provide credit and banking services by the Laos-Viet Nam Joint-venture Bank to the Chitchareune Construction Ltd. Co and the No. 8 Road Construction Company of Laos. Nguyen also revealed that the BIDV is accelerating the establishment of an association of Vietnamese investors in Laos. BIDV earlier provided over 100 million USD for a number of transport projects and 1 trillion VND for the Sekama Hydroelectric Power Plan No. 3 in Laos.-Enditem
