Vietnamese students in Cambodia usher in new school year

Phnom Penh (VNA) – Pupils and teachers at the Tan Tien Vietnamese Language School in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, gathered at a ceremony on September 12 to usher in the new school year.

As the biggest Vietnamese language school in Cambodia, Tan Tien School offers classes for students from grades 2-5 with a curricular compiled in line with the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training’s benchmark standard.

The school, currently has a school roll of 487 pupils, also offers classes in Khmer with the curricular set by the Cambodian Ministry Education and Training.

Addressing the ceremony, Chairman of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Cambodia Chau Van Chi praised the teaching of Vietnamese for overseas Vietnamese children in Cambodia, saying that it helps retain the national cultural identities of the younger overseas Vietnamese generation that reside in Cambodia.-Enditem
