Malaysian group to operate power plant in Viet Nam

15/09/2007 -- 9:31 PM

Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Malaysia’s printing materials manufacturer, Toyo Ink Group Bhd, has said that its plans to build a power plant in Viet Nam are very much on track.

Managing director Song Kok-cheong said that the group had leased land to build the plant and is now waiting for a power purchase agreement.

The group signed a land leasing contract with Viet Nam’s southern Binh Duong province some months ago for the construction of the 1,000 megawatts power plants.

The plant is ready and the installation of electrical supplies is in the final stages and we can start production by next month,” Song was quoted by The Star Online as saying.

He added that Viet Nam is one of Toyo’s top export markets.-Enditem
