Ha Noi (VNA) - Both Ho Chi Minh City's bourse and its Ha Noi-based counterpart continued their upward trend by the end of the September 19 morning trading session.
By closing, the VN-Index, which measures the value of the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE), jumped 11.05 points (1.18 percent) to finish at 946.22 points.
More than 7.4 million shares, worth 641.2 billion VND, were traded during the day. Seventy-four stocks rallied for gains, 27 showed no change and 16 fell.
Strong rises were seen in listed prices of Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Bank (STB), Hai Phong Paper (HAP), Hang Xanh Motors Service (HAX), PetroVietnam Tourism and Services (PET) and Viet Lien Joint Stock Company (UNI).
Meanwhile, Imexpharm Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (IMP), ALTA Company (ALT) and Hau Giang Pharmaceutical (DHG) were the biggest losers of the day.
The HaSTC-Index at the Ha Noi Securities Trading Centre increased 7.96 points (2.96 percent) to finish at 276.63 points.
More than 2.7million shares, valued at 222.6 billion VND, changed hands.
Asian Commercial Bank (ACB) topped the list of movers during the day by tacking 10,700 VND onto its listed price.-Enditem
