Ha Noi (VNA) – The Viet Nam-China International Trade Fair 2007 will kick off in the northern border province of Lao Cai from November 30 to December 5.
According to Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Thanh Bien, the fair, themed “Exchange-Cooperation and Common Development”, is expected to be the largest of its kind with over 500 pavilions showcasing Vietnamese and Chinese products in the areas of agro-forest products, seafood, machinery, construction materials, electronics, garments, footwear, wood products and handicrafts.
The fair will offer an opportunity for domestic and foreign enterprises to boost cooperation and expand markets, he said, adding that it would also help strengthen trade and investment between the Lao Cai and Yunnan provinces in particular and between Viet Nam and China in general.
In 2001, 94 businesses showcased their products at 114 booths during the first fair. Five years later, the numbers of participating enterprises increased to 395.-Enditem
