At a reception in Ha Noi on September 25 given to Singaporean Minister of Defence Teo Chee Hean, President Triet expressed his hope that the two Defence Ministries will continue to increase the exchanges of delegations and take measures to implement cooperative initiatives such as opening short language training courses for army officials.

Alongside national defence, Viet Nam greatly appreciates Singapore’s economic development, social management and urban planning and wishes to learn from the lion-state in these fields, said the Vietnamese President.

For his part, Minister Teo Chee Hean affirmed that the Defence Ministries of Viet Nam and Singapore have closely worked together in security and national defence.

He said he believed that the relations would develop further in the near future to keep pace with the two countries’ economic and political ties.-Enditem
