Investors beeline for 'Metalex Viet Nam'

10/10/2007 -- 3:58 PM

Ha Noi (VNA) – “Metalex Viet Nam 2007” is the top destination for overseas enterprises investing in Viet Nam, the country regarded as the most attractive place for overseas investors, Deputy Director of Reed Tradex Co Ltd, Chainarong Limpkitisin said on Oct. 9 of the upcoming exhibition.

According to data supplied by the Reed Tradex, the organising party of the exhibition, “Metalex Viet Nam 2007” will have 200 showcases displaying the products of 250 enterprises from 25 worldwide nations.

Over one thousand machines are currently being installed for the opening of the exhibition. The machines range from those used in shipbuilding to car assembly or electronics.

Foreign enterprises are eyeing Viet Nam’s market, and thanks to the exhibition, the international investors will have a chance to access this potential market, said Limpkittisin.

In particular, the exhibition will showcase displays from Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan emphasising technological products like logistic or DSL, products that help Vietnamese enterprises access advanced technology in metallics.

“Realising that in Viet Nam the electronics trends are developing strongly in production, investment and export, the Singapore Electronics Association is using their only showcase to introduce their most advanced electronic products to Vietnamese enterprises,” Limpkittisin said.

Similarly, Thai companies seek Vietnamese partners in the rapidly developing sector of car assembly. According to the data concerning industrial output of the first nine months of this year, car assembly production grew by 63.9 percent. These figures reinforce the notion that this sector will see strong development in the near future.

“We hope that the exhibition will attract 10,000 people. At present, there are 2,000 pre-booked ticket holders for the exhibition,” said Limpkittisin.

Metalex is the first metallic arts exhibition to come to Ha Noi. “We chose Ha Noi as it is the capital of Viet Nam, also central to the developing economy of the nation,” he added.

Limpkittisn also confirmed that his company is keen to cooperate with Vietnamese partners to establish an event planning firm in Viet Nam in the near future.-Enditem
