Foreign affairs, education delegation visits Germany

Berlin (VNA) – A Vietnamese delegation of the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Education and Training, headed by Foreign Deputy Minister Vu Dung concluded a four-day working visit to Germany on October 12. During the visit, the delegation had a working session with the Hanns Seidel Stiftung foundation on cooperation in training officials on international economic cooperation in integration, especially when Viet Nam joined the WTO. The Vietnamese delegation also worked with the Siemens group, the Munich University, the Economy and Technology Ministry, the International Affairs Commission of the Christian Social Union (CSU) and Deputy President of the German-ASEAN Parliamentarians Group Holger Ortel. In a meeting with German State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Reinhard Silberberg, the two sides discussed measures to boost friendship and cooperation between the two countries and preparations for visits by high-level delegations of the two countries in the coming time. They also worked out measures to expand bilateral trade, speed up the implementation of a project to build a metro network in Ho Chi Minh City and attract German investment in Viet Nam, especially in high technology.-Enditem
