Ha Noi (VNA) – General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Nong Duc Manh will pay an official visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) from October 16-18.
The visit is made at the invitation of Kim Jong Il, Secretary General of the Workers’ Party of the DPRK.
The visit takes place in the context that important progress has been made in the peace process on the Korean Peninsula after the recent six-party talks, and that satisfactory results have been achieved at the second inter-Korean summit.
The visit to the DPRK by General Secretary Manh is aimed at fostering the traditional friendship and economic ties between the two countries.
