PetroVietnam to build power plant in Laos

Ha Noi (VNA) – The governments of Viet Nam and Laos have given green light to the Viet Nam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) to build a 1,410 MW hydro-electricity power plant on the Mekong river bank in Laos . The construction of the Luang Prabang power plant, built in the form of BOT (build-operate-transfer) with 100 percent of investment from Viet Nam, is expected to begin in 2008. Once completed, the plant will provide power to both Viet Nam and Laos.-Enditem
