Stock indexes decline in both bourses

08/11/2007 -- 5:48 PM

Ha Noi (VNA) – Stock indexes in both Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Noi bourses declined by the end of the November 8 trading session.

The VN-Index at the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) dipped by 4.73 points to finish at 1,026.47 points. Over 8.5 million shares, worth nearly 878.5 billion VND (55 million USD), changed hands.

However, some analysts believed the VN-Index will possibly go up next week as blue chips have dropped continuously over the past month and the trading volume also reduced, showing signs of bottoming out.

While domestic investors continue running after profits, foreign investors silently bought promising shares such as Phu My Nitrogenous Fertiliser (DPM), Thanh Cong Textile (TCM), Pha Lai Thermal Power (PPC), and Binh Minh Plastics (BMP).

The Ha Noi Securities Trading Centre also witnessed the decrease of almost shares, including blue chips as Asian Commercial Bank (ACB), and Pan Pacific (PAN).

The HaSTC-Index closed at 362.9 points after dropping by 4.65 points. Some 3.1 million shares, worth 356 billion VND (22.25 million USD), were traded.- Enditem
