Ha Noi (VNA) - The Viet Nam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA) reported a year-on-year 125 percent growth in sales of domestic cars in October.
The association’s 16 members sold a total of 9,081 vehicles last month. Toyota led the race by selling 2,016 units, representing an increase of 50 percent over the same period last year.
Joining VAMA in September, Vinamotor, the largest State-owned auto maker in Viet Nam , successfully jumped up to the second place with 1,268 units sold, and next is Truong Hai Auto Company with 1,029 units, surging 149 percent. Altogether, VAMA has sold 58,320 vehicles so far this year, 88 percent increase over the corresponding period last year. In addition, around 10,000 vehicles have been booked and can only be delivered after March 2008.-Enditem
